About this video
Executing a severe bow and arrow choke from a topside crucifix and sling control:
- Start with sling control, drive forward, get the grips, come down, pull and kick.
- If you can't get a full kick, your opponent may grab and try to defend. They only have one hand to defend because of your position.
- At this point, you can go for the bow and arrow. Grab your opponent's collar.
- Your opponent may try to defend by getting their elbow past their forehead. If you see this, prepare for a severe bow and arrow choke.
- Fall to your side, and place your top leg behind your opponent's head. It's crucial to maintain control of your opponent's leg. If you lose this control, you may run into problems.
- Once in position, kick with your hamstring behind your opponent's head.
- If you forget to hold onto your opponent's leg or they manage to escape, they can roll towards your side and put you in a bad position. To prevent this, hold onto your opponent's leg.
- Finish the move by pulling on your opponent's arm and kicking back.
- If you find yourself in a half position, let go and grab your opponent's collar. Your opponent will likely try to defend.
- Bring your top knee behind your opponent's head and straighten your leg like a hamstring press. This is a very effective choke.
- Remember to push and pull with the choking hand, but don't let go of your grip.
