About this video

From the arm sling position, the technique begins by opening up and trapping the opponent's top leg. This is followed by a kick that puts the opponent into the crucifix position, and a shoulder roll.

  1. If the opponent is good at defending the choke and turns their arm up, use the other leg to trap their arm.
  2. If the opponent is almost out, shrimp twice, then push their head down.
  3. Immediately after pushing the opponent's head down, bring the top leg over their face and lock up the triangle.
  4. Reach for the opponent's arm, pull it in, and finish with a triangle choke.
  5. From the grip, open up, grab, go underneath, and pull the opponent up using body weight to drive them forward.
  6. Open up, drive, trace, and put the opponent into the crucifix position.
  7. If the opponent gets to their knees, roll. From here, either go for the choke or shrimp out and switch the arm and legs to get into a different position.
  8. Instead of having the arm in the usual way, swim and get into a different type of crucifix situation, which is a little looser than the other one because it doesn't create as much pain in the shoulder.
  9. Use the forearm to push the opponent down towards the legs, and bring the top leg over to trap the triangle.
  10. Come up, reach for the hand, pull it in, and finish by squeezing the triangle.
