About this video
From the arm sling position, a different back take can be executed based on the opponent's reaction. This technique is particularly useful when the opponent is not giving up their position easily.
- Start from the arm sling position. If the opponent is keeping their elbows tight, move to the half back.
- Force the opponent into an arm trap position by grabbing, popping up, stepping, and picking them up.
- Put the opponent down on their elbow. Be careful not to injure the opponent's arm in this process.
- Once the opponent is on their elbow, circle around, shoot, and trap the opponent's arm in your legs.
- From this half back position, you can transition to a full back position. If your legs are long enough, you can secure a body triangle.
- Open the arm sling, grab, pop the opponent up, and drop them down so they have to base.
- Snake your leg over the opponent's arm. From here, you can take the full back position or, if you're long, secure a body triangle.
- With the opponent's arm trapped, the technique is essentially complete.
