About this video

The technique demonstrated is the Bread Cutter choke from the Arm Sling position. This technique is used when the opponent is on their side and you are in the cross-eyed crucifix position.

  1. Start by lifting the opponent up and securing the Kimura grip.
  2. Transition into the Arm Sling position, ensuring the opponent remains on their side. This makes it difficult for them to put their back on the ground and defend against the submission.
  3. If the opponent manages to drop their back to the ground, continue fighting for the position. As you do this, sneak your hand across their throat, thumb in, to set up the Bread Cutter choke.
  4. While maintaining the Arm Sling position, which negates some of the opponent's defenses, sneak your hand in, thumb in and four fingers out, and drop your elbows to the ground.
  5. Flatten out your body, ensuring your elbow is fully on the ground. This applies pressure and tightens the choke.
  6. If your hand isn't very deep, flare your elbows out to direct the opponent's head towards the direction of the choke.
  7. Finish the Bread Cutter choke while maintaining the Arm Sling control.

This technique requires precise control and timing, but when executed correctly, it can be a powerful submission tool.
