About this video

Flying triangle from a single leg counter:

  1. Encourage the opponent to posture up during a single leg attempt by pushing their head upwards.
  2. When the opponent's head is postured up, prepare for the flying triangle.
  3. Use a motion similar to climbing over a wall to pull yourself up, placing both hands on the opponent's shoulder.
  4. Hook your inside foot on the outside of the opponent's body to prepare for the jump.
  5. As you hook your foot, simultaneously jump up using the opponent's body to climb and lock your legs into a triangle position.
  6. Ensure you do not fall onto your back when executing the flying triangle. Always protect your back.
  7. Once the opponent is down, push off with your legs, place both hands on your shin, and squeeze to finish the triangle choke.
  8. Adjust the triangle by pulling the opponent's head across if necessary to secure the choke.
