About this video
Setting up a Flying Triangle when the opponent is disciplined in their stance:
- Attempt a fake takedown to elicit a reaction. If the opponent grabs your collar but remains in a low, disciplined stance, adjust your strategy.
- Instead of a direct Flying Triangle attempt, which can be risky and uncomfortable from a low posture, fake an Ankle Pick to create an opening.
- Feign a guard pull towards the Ankle Pick, reaching for the opponent's leg to prompt them to react and move away.
- As the opponent pulls their leg back, use their momentum to come up and jump into the Flying Triangle.
- Execute the move quickly, locking your legs and pulling the opponent's arm across to secure the triangle choke.
- It's crucial to time the jump with the opponent's body movement as they retreat from the Ankle Pick fake.
- Be creative in finding ways to get the necessary grips and reactions for the Flying Triangle, and continue to evolve your approach.
