About this video
Executing a sitting triangle involves a combination of grips and timing to lock the legs effectively. Begin with your left leg forward, left hand on the collar, and right hand on top, mirroring the grips used for a closed guard or flying triangle. Initiate by pulling your partner towards you to elicit a postural response.
- As your partner reacts by posturing up, instead of jumping, sit down directly into the triangle position.
- Maintain your grips throughout the descent, ensuring control over your partner's posture.
- Upon sitting, immediately lock your legs to secure the triangle choke.
- If your partner does not posture up as expected, you can still transition into the triangle.
- Once in position, holding both grips, adjust your triangle choke to finalize the submission.
This technique serves as both a drill to improve the timing of leg closure in mid-air and as an effective attack that can be applied in live rolling or competition.
