Executing a triangle choke from the double unders position involves a sneaky setup and precise hand placement. Begin by controlling your opponent's sleeves and dropping your hips to prevent them from securing a deep double under pass. If your opponent's head is positioned low, it sets up the opportunity for the triangle.
- Position your hand on your opponent's arm, as if you're replacing their arm with your hand, and prepare to lock the triangle with the opposite leg.
- Ensure your palm is on their neck on the side opposite to the leg you will use to lock the triangle. This creates the necessary pressure for the choke.
- Keep your hand in place as if you're casually trying to pull their head down, until you can move your arm into the correct position on their neck.
- Once your hand is in the right spot on their neck, swing your opposite leg over their shoulder to lock the triangle.
- Apply the choke by pushing your hand against their neck and pulling their head into the choke with your other hand.
- If the submission isn't immediate, adjust your hand to ensure it's not on their jaw or causing a neck crank. Proper placement is cupping directly on the neck.
- With the triangle locked, pull their head down and squeeze your legs to finish the submission.
