About this video
Executing a flying inverted triangle when the opponent shoots for a single leg:
- Start with the opponent shooting for a single leg. Anticipate their defense which may involve pushing your attacking leg to the inside.
- As they defend, secure an underhook with one hand to assist in bringing your body over theirs.
- Perform a jumping motion with the leg on the mat, bringing your body over the opponent's head to lock in the triangle.
- If the opponent brings you down to the mat, adjust by placing your hands on their hips and scooting your hips and knee towards the mat to lock the triangle.
- Open your knee to the mat to get a better angle for locking your legs.
- Squeeze your legs to finish the triangle submission.
- Practice the motion fluidly, ensuring you hop on the leg that's not caught to prevent being taken down.
- Use the underhook to jump and swing your other leg behind the opponent's head to secure the triangle.
- Even if the opponent keeps you up, you can still finish the submission from the standing position.
- Remember to adjust your position by scooting your knee towards the mat if necessary to lock the triangle and complete the submission.
