About this video

Transitioning from Reverse De La Riva to back control:

  1. Maintain distance using the left foot on the opponent's hip or shoulder to create space and manage guard retention.
  2. Extend the opponent slightly away to create distance and underhook their right leg with your right hand.
  3. Release the collar grip and use the left hand to post on the opponent's chest, preparing to spin.
  4. Spin onto your shoulders, reaching for the opponent's hamstring with the left hand to gain momentum.
  5. Slide out the back door, bringing both shins behind the opponent's knees.
  6. Reach high to grab the back of the opponent's belt, pulling them in and kicking their legs out to bring them to a seated position.
  7. Immediately secure a seatbelt grip, ensuring chest-to-back contact.
  8. Insert hooks to establish back control and prepare for subsequent attacks.

Key points include maintaining proper foot placement for guard retention and using the momentum from spinning to transition to the back.
