About this video
Executing a wrist lock during a knee slice pass:
- When initiating the knee slice, the opponent may grab your leg to prevent the pass or set up a sweep.
- Post your hand out for an underhook to prevent being pulled into a sweep.
- Instead of grabbing the triceps to finish the pass, pass your knee through as usual but bring your hand over their arm.
- If the opponent tries to turn away, maintain your position and switch your grip from the triceps to the forearm.
- Pull the forearm to break their grip on your leg and then move your hand to their wrist.
- Grab between the thumb and fingers, and push down on the wrist to apply the wrist lock submission.
- If the opponent defends by turning their hand, you can switch sides and apply the same technique.
- Keep your leg straight and heavy to prevent being swept, and maintain a strong base with your posted hand.
- Lift your knee just enough to pass through while staying heavy to counter any sweep attempts.
- Frame the opponent's forearm against your leg, slide up to their palm, and bend to secure the wrist lock.
