About this video
Executing the Homie Clap Armbar when the opponent extracts their arm:
- Start by attempting an Omoplata, but when the opponent bumps forward, grab their tricep and step over.
- If the opponent manages to pull their arm out during your setup, immediately catch their wrist to secure the Homie Clap grip, ensuring their thumb points upwards.
- Pinch your knees together from the beginning and lean back to apply the armbar.
- Because of the tight knee pinch, there's no need to lift your hips or lean back far; the opponent will likely tap quickly due to the proximity.
- If the opponent escapes a fully set submission, catch the arm quickly, secure the Homie Clap, squeeze your knees, and finish the armbar.
- To deal with squirmy or flexible opponents, place your leg over and under their head, and bring your other leg over their neck on the opposite side.
- Maintain the squeeze and as you lean back, the opponent will tap. This position also simulates a choke by locking their head with your ankles and calf, allowing for a tighter armbar.
