About this video
Transitioning from Spider Guard to X-Guard, an armbar can be effectively executed.
- Begin by extending the Spider Guard, posting the foot on the hip, and maneuvering the opponent over to establish the X-Guard.
- Pass the sleeve of the trapped arm to the opposite hand to maintain control over the opponent's posture.
- Secure a grip on the collar and bring the elbow to the hip to ensure the opponent's posture remains broken.
- Thread the leg through and pass the opponent's arm over while keeping the collar grip to prevent them from extracting their elbow.
- Maintain the collar grip and squeeze the legs together to finalize the armbar without the need for extensive hip extension.
Throughout the technique, it is crucial to keep the elbows tight to the hips and control the opponent's posture to successfully secure the armbar.
