About this video
Control the crucifix position using the inside leg to restrict the opponent's movement and set up submissions like the kimura. Maintain control by clamping the opponent's shoulder with your feet together, which prevents them from shifting their weight onto you.
- Fit in by scooping your chest under the opponent's back and docking your chin on their shoulder, which compromises their neck posture.
- Avoid controlling the wrist directly as opponents can often power out. Instead, grab their hand and bend it backwards to disable their arm's muscle actions.
- This hand control buys time to set up chokes or transition to a kimura.
- If unable to entangle the opponent's arm, use the inside leg for control, which is still effective but allows for easier escapes compared to the entanglement.
- When the opponent seeks space to move, identify the appropriate submission to attack based on their reactions.
The goal is to reinforce your crucifix game to compel the opponent to expose themselves to the kimura, whether it's leg to arm or arm to arm.
