About this video
Executing the Capizzi Lock from the Crucifix position involves a unique setup where the opposite leg is used for entanglement, allowing for new movements and control. The technique unfolds as follows:
- Start in the basic Crucifix position with the inside leg trapping the opponent's arm, always threatening with a choke.
- Control the opponent's wrist by gripping at the fingers, which delays their defense and prevents them from extending their arm.
- When the opportunity arises, loop your arm over the opponent's arm with your armpit, opening your body up to involve your whole body and conserve energy.
- Transition into a Rear Naked Choke grip on the opponent's wrist, then release the hand grip and circle your hand to your bicep.
- Open your elbow out and slide it underneath the opponent's triceps to secure the lock.
- The position is highly restrictive, making it difficult for the opponent to escape once the lock is applied.
- To maintain control of the hand, use a grip where two fingers are below and two above the opponent's pinky, allowing for easy manipulation of their hand.
- Complete the submission by looping your arm over, capturing the wrist, passing your arm through, and opening the elbow out to leverage the lock.
This technique provides a powerful and controlled submission from the Crucifix position.
