About this video
The Blitz Armbar is a powerful technique to use when you're in a stalling situation or losing a fight and need to turn the tide quickly. Here's how to execute it:
- Start by getting a sleeve grip on your opponent in a nonchalant manner. This can be done by grabbing the sleeve or using another grip to confuse your opponent.
- Once you have the grip, create some distance between you and your opponent. This can be done by pushing them off or using any other method to create space.
- With the hand that's gripping the sleeve, punch across your opponent's body. As you do this, post your elbow and hand on the floor. If your opponent is close, you may need to open them up before punching through.
- Once you've punched through, frame against your opponent's arm with your whole arm. Your elbow and hand should be on the floor.
- Bring your right shin behind your opponent's neck and circle in towards their legs. Apply pressure on the back of their neck with your shin, and squeeze their arm with your thighs. From here, you can execute the armbar.
- If your opponent scrambles, keep your foot under their neck and lock their shoulder with your other foot. This isolates their shoulder and arm, making it difficult for them to escape.
- If your opponent is a strong scrambler and manages to come up, you can transition into a triangle choke. However, the shoulder lock and arm isolation should make it very difficult for them to move around.
