About this video

Aggressive Armlock from a broken turtle position:

  1. Break your opponent's turtle position and make them fall.
  2. Push with your head behind their ear and jaw to open them up.
  3. Go for an armbar, keeping a cross grip to prevent them from reacting or escaping. This grip gives you control of their shoulder and helps isolate their arm.
  4. If they defend by hugging their hand or crossing their arms, adjust your position. Your free hand goes inside all the way to their bicep, peeling the other hand if needed. Open their arm towards their head.
  5. Only release the collar grip at the last instance if you're not able to get the tap and need extra torque. Explode with your hips to finish the armbar.

If your opponent hugs your bottom leg:

  1. Break down their posture as before.
  2. Push behind their ear to open them up and come over with your right leg for the armbar.
  3. Keep your grip and adjust to finish the armbar. If they defend, go inside all the way to your elbow. When your bicep touches their arm, you're good to go.
  4. Open their arm towards their head. Only release the collar grip if you're not able to finish from there. If you need extra torque, be tight with your legs, let go of the neck, and thrust your hips, bringing them down.
