About this video
Transition from deep half guard to inverted triangle choke:
- Start in deep half guard. If the opponent hugs your leg tightly, making it difficult to apply a choke, sit up to adjust.
- Pull the opponent's arm slightly to create space, then thread your left hand through to grip their arm.
- Begin to sit back, using the grip to make the opponent uncomfortable, and work on freeing your leg.
- As you sit back, extract your leg, push the opponent's hip, and swing your right leg up to lock in the triangle choke.
- If the choke isn't tight, grab both hands on the opponent's tricep, pull it up to tighten the submission.
- If the opponent is a strong deep half guard player and keeps your legs trapped, wait for them to start turning for a sweep.
- As they turn, rotate with them, kick their leg away to create space, and escape your leg.
- Lock in the triangle choke and squeeze to finish the submission.
