About this video
Here's a breakdown of the hip heisting defense:
- Ensure your head is not dipped forward. Maintain a good base.
- Keep your butt wide, not narrow. Come up into a higher position.
- Face your opponent and place your knee in a defensive position.
- Be mindful not to invert your body. Maintain a sprawling position.
- Drive your knee across your opponent's body.
- Fight off your opponent's elbow and lock it up.
- Lead with your knee driving across your opponent's body. This is a crucial detail.
- By driving your knee across, you shorten your opponent's leg, making it harder for them to create distance.
