Samir Chantre was born on October 15, 1988, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His first exposure to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu occurred at age nine during his brother's graduation ceremony, sparking his initial interest in the martial art. He began formal training at Fabricio Academy in Copacabana, where he developed his foundational skills. After briefly stepping away to pursue soccer, Chantre returned to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, reigniting his passion and commitment to the sport.

Upon resuming his training, Chantre transitioned from Fabricio Academy to the renowned Carlson Gracie team, further refining his technical abilities. He later trained under Alan Moraes, who awarded him his black belt. Throughout his progression, Chantre also benefited significantly from training sessions supervised by multiple-time world champion Caio Terra.
