About this video

Transitioning to a crucifix from a stack pass involves controlling the opponent's arm with your shin. If the opponent blocks your hip or hands, you can use their reaction to trap their arm. Walk them up slightly to create an opportunity to trap the arm, then block their shoulders to prevent them from moving back. Use your top leg to tip and adjust your control.

  1. When driving through for the stack pass and feeling resistance, bring the opponent over your shoulder while keeping their leg trapped.
  2. Withdraw your arm to avoid a potential triangle, bringing it across to the opponent's hip.
  3. Drag and push with your chest over the opponent to walk them into position.
  4. Pull their shoulders up to expose your knee, swing your leg through, and touch your heel and knee together to fall back into the crucifix.
  5. From the elbows and knees position, push your knee towards the far foot and change your angle. Secure a seat belt grip and control the far arm if possible.
  6. Touch your heel and knee together, roll over the ball of your foot until your knee touches the mat, and drag your opponent's shoulders with you to find their wrist.
  7. If you have difficulty completing the crucifix due to tightness, find the hands and drive your back knee over to create a ring with your heel and knee, locking the opponent's arm in place.
  8. Drive over, bring the opponent's shoulders with you, and scrape together to secure the crucifix position.
  9. If the opponent is blocking and you can't progress, look for an opportunity to break their grip. Use your prop leg and both hands to drag them to the near side shoulder.
  10. Push and use your body to work them over, then swing your foot over, scrape, and find the crucifix, where you have control over the arm and the neck.
