About this video
Completing the pass with a grip switch when unable to finish the stack pass:
- Maintain a strong pin and prop with the stack pass, pulling and closing elbows without being able to complete the position.
- Bring the back arm through to the front, making a palm-up grip on the nearside hip or punching the arm across the opponent's body.
- Lock the arm in front of the nearside hip, go thumb down when reaching the arm through, and run the hip backwards.
- Position the head to slide from inside to outside the legs, transitioning between a stack pass and a leg drag.
- From a strong stacking position with a prop, the knee can be on or off the mat for stability.
- Sneak the hand around the corner to make a palm-up grip, release the leg on the head by shrugging the shoulder and walking the hip back.
- Close the elbow and move into side control, maintaining the same process if the arm is extended all the way through.
- Establish a good stack position, keeping knees off the mat if balance allows, and ensure the opponent is stuck over their shoulders and cannot roll.
- Complete the pass by sneaking the arm through and running the hip back.
