About this video
Optimizing the stack position in double under guard pass involves several key adjustments to counter common defenses:
- Keep your hands low on the hips, either holding the belt or pants, or connected together to prevent the opponent from sliding their knees in between your arms.
- Prevent the opponent from placing their feet on your hips by changing angles and staying tight, walking your knees to tilt their hips up or dragging their hips onto your thighs.
- When the opponent attempts to insert hooks, perform a mule kick in a circular motion to clear the hooks and close the gap, ensuring no space is given.
- Avoid exposing your neck by monitoring the opponent's hands and preventing them from getting a grip on your collar or setting up a no-gi triangle.
- If the opponent tries to frame against your face and extract their arm, immediately shift your weight to that side to make it difficult for them to organize their position.
- Even if the opponent manages to frame, continue to move your weight to the framed side, which lowers their leg and allows you to step over their foot.
- As the opponent pulls your arm out, use their motion to pass their guard, at least into a half guard position, from where you can center and continue your pass.
These adjustments help maintain control and prevent the opponent from executing their defenses, allowing for a more successful guard pass.
