About this video
Executing the Double Knee Slide pass when the opponent defends against the stomp:
- Start with the opponent having a pant grip. Attempt the stomp to make them react by lifting their shin to defend.
- Transition to the double knee slice by hooking your leg behind and onto their shin, shin-on-shin.
- Simultaneously, let go of your grip, drop your weight down towards the mat, and punch your other leg back to slide through.
- As you execute the double knee slice, catch your body with one hand on the mat to avoid falling forward.
- If the opponent does not react, you will end up in side control.
- However, if the opponent starts to push or turn into you, go over their head and move to their back on the opposite side.
- As they continue to turtle, follow through with the first back take shown earlier: grab their wrist, secure a seatbelt grip using their wrist, and insert your knee between them.
- Roll them on top of your knee, establish your hooks, and secure back control.
It's important to perform the double knee slice with fluidity and speed to either secure side control or take the back if the opponent reacts by turtling.
