About this video
Starting in the half guard with the knee shield, use your hands to block the opponent's bicep and shoulder, ensuring that your knee stays pointed upwards. Resist any attempts by the opponent to fold your leg. Use your hands to prevent the opponent from putting too much pressure forward. If the opponent tries to wrap your head, create a frame to keep them away.
- When the opponent pressures forward, switch your grip. Grab their collar with your right hand, keeping your left hand posted on their collar. Ensure that you're grabbing around armpit height. If you grab too high, you won't have enough slack to execute your choke properly. If you grab too low, you'll have too much slack. The sweet spot is right around the opponent's armpit.
- Switch your grip, grab the opponent's armpit, snap their head down, and sit up. As you sit up, kick your leg through to clamp their posture down.
- Slide your hand over and bring your leg as far up as you can. The higher, the better. If your leg is below the opponent's shoulder, they can find a bit of space by posturing up. Ensure that your leg is clamping above the shoulder. When the opponent postures, it will become very tight.
- To finish, pull and point your fingers upwards to get your submission.
Remember, when you switch your grip to the collar, snap the opponent's head down, and kick your leg through, these actions should happen simultaneously. Once you clamp, pull, point your fingers upwards, and get your finish.
