Jonnatas Gracie

Jonnatas Gracie was born on June 9, 1997, in Natal, the capital city of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. At age 11, he relocated to São Paulo, where neighborhood friends introduced him to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 14. He began his formal training under Master Fran do Carmo, a respected representative of the Ryan Gracie Academy.

In 2014, Gracie's competitive trajectory accelerated significantly when he joined Luiz Guilherme's scholarship program, enabling him to dedicate himself fully to competitive training. His potential quickly became evident when, as a blue belt in 2015, he reached the semi-finals of the ADCC Brazil Trials—one of the country's most demanding no-gi grappling tournaments.

In 2017, Jonnatas Gracie joined the prestigious Atos JJ, training under legendary competitor and coach André Galvão. Under Galvão's mentorship, Gracie refined his technical approach and achieved remarkable success, earning both his brown and black belts. He received his black belt in June 2019 after capturing his fourth IBJJF World Championship title at the colored belt level.

Gracie's ADCC journey began impressively early, reaching the semi-finals at the ADCC Brazil Trials as a blue belt in 2015. His continued dedication culminated in a runner-up finish at the 2024 ADCC South American Trials in São Paulo, securing his invitation to compete in the prestigious 2024 ADCC World Championships in the 77 kg division.

Who's Number One Debut

On February 25, 2023, Gracie made his debut at Who's Number One, defeating Oliver Taza by decision. He showcased his trademark pressure passing and strategic guard control, effectively neutralizing Taza's dynamic guard game.

UFC Fight Pass Invitational 7

In May 2024, Gracie secured another significant victory at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 7, defeating Jacob "Jay" Rodriguez. His precise sweeps and positional dominance were instrumental in controlling the match and earning the decision.

ADXC 5 Superfight

In August 2024, Gracie traveled to Abu Dhabi for ADXC 5, where he faced Burak Sarman in a no-gi superfight. Demonstrating tactical awareness and relentless pressure, Gracie secured a decisive victory by judges' decision.

Gracie is confirmed as a competitor in the highly anticipated 8-man No-Gi Grand Prix at BJJ Stars 15, scheduled for April 2025. This event will feature elite competitors such as Elijah Dorsey and PJ Barch, contested under ADCC rules. His participation further solidifies his standing among the sport's elite athletes.
