About this video
Transitioning from a squatting guillotine to a Peruvian necktie:
- Start with a cupping grip on the opponent's chin, setting up for a squatting guillotine.
- When the opponent blocks your hip to prevent the guillotine, use this as a cue to switch techniques.
- Extract your left hand and reach over for a head and arm grip, pulling your wrist into the opponent's neck to tighten the choke.
- Slide your chin across the opponent's shoulder to the opposite hip to change the angle for the Peruvian necktie.
- Instead of jumping straight over, angle your jump to face the opponent, which allows you to drop your leg on their head and increase pressure.
- Avoid crossing your feet during the jump to maintain leverage and close any gaps.
- Slide back to your butt, keeping your chin connected to the opponent throughout the transition.
- Drift your leg over the opponent's back to secure a tight Peruvian necktie.
- Maintain connection to limit the opponent's ability to scramble and defend against the choke.
- Use the correct part of your wrist to apply pressure on the opponent's neck, refining the choke's effectiveness.
