About this video
Executing an arm drag to a mounted guillotine involves a series of steps to secure the submission from the top position. Begin by grabbing the opponent's wrist and turning your palm up, then push their hand to the side and reach for their triceps. As you pull their arm towards you, position your head forward, ensuring your chin is attached to their shoulder. Slide your foot in towards your buttocks and then out to the side.
If the opponent blocks your side movement by wrapping their arm around your waist, immediately secure the guillotine grip. Slide your leg to the outside and create a hook with your foot. Use this hook to roll them over your shoulder, maintaining the guillotine grip throughout the transition.
Once you land in the top position, position your thumb in the middle of your sternum and place your other hand on the floor. Pull your elbow back and lift your head off the floor to tighten the guillotine. It's crucial to be mindful of your partner's neck during practice.
To finish the submission, ensure your thumb is against your chest and your body fits into your hand. Pull your elbow back and posture up to apply the choke. Open your hand so your body can fit in, and use the leverage of your elbow rather than muscle strength to secure the submission. Practice the movement smoothly with your partner, threading through their body and levering the elbow to achieve the submission. When you feel more control, you can apply pressure with both hands while being chest heavy to complete the guillotine.
