About this video
Executing the Squatting Guillotine begins with controlling the opponent in Turtle Guard. Establish a cupping grip on the chin to manipulate the opponent's head and anchor your own chin into their back. Ensure your shoulders are in front of the opponent's body for better control and pressure.
- While on your toes, cup the opponent's chin with one hand, anchoring your chin on their back, opposite to the hand gripping the chin.
- Bring in the second hand to reinforce the grip, similar to carrying a pail of water, with the thumb underneath the neck.
- Pinch your elbows together to restrict the opponent's head movement.
- Drive your weight onto the opponent's feet to limit their mobility and prepare for the guillotine.
- When stepping up to execute the guillotine, maintain the chin connection to avoid losing the technique.
- Perform a power step with one leg, followed by the second leg, keeping elbows at the hips.
- Squat down into the opponent, applying pressure with your body weight to complete the guillotine.
It's crucial to practice this technique in conjunction with other moves like the Peruvian necktie and arm-in guillotine to develop versatility in applying the guillotine from either side.
