About this video

Transitioning from a squatting guillotine or a Peruvian necktie, when the opponent blocks the hip to prevent climbing or hopping over, maintain the chin in the middle of the opponent's back without changing the initial setup. Slide the hand to the opponent's tricep and pull the arm back, leveraging the elbow to step up with force. Swivel the other leg in to secure an inside hook, which can be used to sweep the opponent and increase guillotine leverage.

  1. Start with a cupping guillotine on the opponent's chin and reinforce with the second hand.
  2. Drive away towards the opponent's feet, keeping the chin fixed to the opponent's back.
  3. If the opponent blocks the hip, slide the hand to their tricep and pull the arm back, leveraging the elbow.
  4. Step up with leverage and swivel the other leg in to get an inside hook on the opponent.
  5. Slide into half guard, maintaining chin connection, and apply pressure on the opponent's neck.
  6. Place the outside leg over the opponent's back and use the right elbow to find the midline of the opponent's body, forcing their chin to their chest to secure the submission.
  7. Ensure the inside hook is on the opponent's leg and slide into the bottom position to apply the guillotine.
  8. Turn the elbow towards the midline of the opponent's body so the wrist impales the neck, keeping the opponent in a suspended free fall.
  9. Move the opponent's base with the leg to potentially sweep them over to the side.
  10. Understand the importance of breaking the opponent's balance to prevent them from stabilizing and escaping the guillotine.

Practice the guillotine hook by sliding and finishing in the bottom half guard before attempting rolling sweep moves.
