About this video
Executing a submission from the mount begins by ensuring the opponent's arms are on the floor and not in a defensive position. Achieve head control with the right hand and use the other hand to control the opponent's bicep. Step over their bicep with the knee, then switch the head control hand to grab the opponent's shoulder, securing their arm tightly around your head.
- With the opponent's arm secured, plant the right foot on the floor to prepare for the submission.
- Shift weight onto the free hand to allow the leg to swing over the opponent's face and sit down on your buttocks.
- Secure a tight grip on the opponent's collar with the hand that was holding the head. This grip prevents the opponent from removing the foot from their neck.
- To finish the submission, push the foot into the opponent's neck while simultaneously pulling with the arm gripping the collar, creating a choking effect.
Repeat the steps to ensure proper execution: control the head, block the bicep, step over with the knee, switch to shoulder control, plant the foot, swing the leg over, sit down, grip the collar, and apply the choke by pushing and pulling until the tap.
