Bruse found her first grappling home at Black Hole Jiu-Jitsu in Wappingers Falls, New York, training under coach Mike Wacker. Purple and Brown Belt Dominance

Within the IBJJF competitive framework, Bruse established herself as a No-Gi specialist, competing in the Peso Leve division (64 kg / 141.5 lbs) under the American flag. Her breakthrough arrived approximately one year after joining Atos, when she captured gold at the 2020 IBJJF No-Gi World Championship at purple belt.
