Born on January 3, 2002, Jasmine Rocha grew up in a household where martial arts were not a hobby but a way of life. Her father, Vagner Rocha, is a lifelong martial artist and successful gym owner whose career in grappling laid the foundation upon which Jasmine would build her own. With such a figure at the center of her upbringing, the mats became a second home almost by default.

Jasmine began training jiu-jitsu at the age of five under her father's direct guidance, and by six she had already stepped onto the competition mat for the first time. That extraordinarily early start placed her inside a professional training environment during the most formative years of her athletic development, instilling both the technical grounding and competitive mindset that would define her career.

Jasmine's development as a grappler was shaped by focused instruction and consistent exposure to elite training environments. Her primary base throughout her formative years was Vagner Rocha Martial Arts, where her father served as head coach at every stage of her progression through the belt ranks. The relationship between Vagner Rocha and Miami's Fight Sports opened an additional avenue for her growth, and Jasmine trained extensively at the squad's headquarters under coaches Maggie Grindatti, Roberto Abreu, and Adrian Benavides.

To broaden her grappling base further, Jasmine joined her high school wrestling team during her sophomore year — an experience that added a valuable competitive dimension to her overall game. Each of these training environments contributed to the well-rounded athlete she became, though it was the no-gi ruleset where her identity as a competitor took its clearest form.

All of her belt promotions came under Vagner Rocha's instruction, a testament to the continuity and trust at the heart of her athletic journey. In September 2022, that journey reached a landmark when she received her black belt — a promotion earned through years of disciplined training and a strong track record on the international tournament circuit.

Colored Belt Dominance

Jasmine Rocha's competitive record traces a trajectory exceptional from the very beginning. As a colored belt, she announced herself on the world stage in 2017 by winning the IBJJF World No-Gi Championship in both the weight and absolute categories — a remarkable double for any competitor, let alone one still developing through the junior ranks. She returned to the podium at the same event in 2018, adding a silver medal in her weight class and a bronze in the absolute division.

Black Belt Breakthrough

Her transition to the black belt division in 2022 coincided with receiving that promotion, and she wasted no time establishing herself among the elite of her weight class. That same year, she claimed silver at the IBJJF World No-Gi Championship and silver at the IBJJF Pan No-Gi Championship, demonstrating that her colored belt success was no anomaly. On the ADCC circuit, she placed fourth at the East Coast USA Trials in 2021 before sharpening her results in 2022, earning silver at the West Coast USA Trials and a bronze at the 1st Brazil Trials.

On May 29, 2025, Jasmine Rocha was forced to withdraw from her scheduled match against Alex Enriquez at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 11 after being hospitalized with Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), a serious and potentially life-threatening medical condition. The withdrawal from a high-profile event served as a stark reminder that elite athletic performance exists alongside the same physical vulnerabilities that affect all individuals, regardless of conditioning or competitive standing.
