About this video

Introducing a solo drill to enhance mobility, coordination, and flexibility for inverted guard work:

  1. Start with both feet parallel and at the same level, with hips close to the wall.
  2. Move the outside foot away while simultaneously initiating a hip escape. It's crucial not to push against the wall and to keep the hips as close to the wall as possible.
  3. Bring the head inwards and remove the heel from the wall to allow the foot to rotate, which is necessary for inverting. Keep the head in and hips high while inverting.
  4. During the inversion, the feet should remain in line, and one hand should be touching the wall to ensure proximity to the wall.
  5. Avoid pushing off the wall, as this will create distance and make it impossible to touch the wall with the hand. The hips should always stay in line with the wall.
  6. After inverting and touching the wall with both hands, remove the second foot to complete the inversion.
