About this video
Initiate the technique by making frames and going under the opponent's arm while they underhook your leg. Pass your leg over their head and lock your hands palm to palm. To prepare for the arm lock:
- Keep your top hook in and place your bottom foot on the mat to elevate your hips, transitioning from lying on your shoulder to coming up on your forehead.
- With your hand inside, maintain tightness, and circle your other leg in front of the opponent's face.
- Reach for the opponent's near leg and roll over your shoulder, using your shin to apply pressure to their head, forcing them to roll.
- Control the opponent's leg to prevent them from coming into you. If they try, you still have great control.
- Pass your leg over their head to secure the armbar position.
- Attack the opponent's grip to finish the armbar.
This sequence allows you to transition from a defensive position into an offensive armbar, even when the opponent attempts to defend by locking their hands together.
