Defending against a knee cut pass using Reverse De La Riva:
- Wrap the Reverse De La Riva hook around the opponent's hip to prevent their knee from touching the mat.
- Reinforce the hook by wrapping your knee or arm around your leg.
- Frame against the opponent's shoulder and circle your other hand inside their elbow to gain inside control.
- Reinforce the Reverse De La Riva hook with your top leg and extend away to create space.
- Lead with your knee and place your foot on the opponent's stomach or circle your hand inside to prepare for an attack.
- Switch to an ankle grip and turn your elbow inside as much as possible.
- Lift your hip with your top foot and reach for the far hamstring.
- Pull yourself through to attack the opponent's back.
- Circle your leg inside and grip the opponent's hips.
- Pull the hips in while extending your hooks and sit the opponent down to take back control.
- Secure the seatbelt grip and proceed to attack from the back.
