About this video
Initiate the technique by underhooking and grabbing your shin, then invert by stepping on the mat or extending your leg for momentum. You can push on your opponent or hook underneath their leg to assist in spinning.
Control your opponent's far hip and circle your leg inside to establish X-Guard hooks. Instead of coming up with a leg drag, if your opponent is creating space or pushing on you, maintain your hooks and lift your hips off the mat, coming up on your shoulder.
To insert the Twister Hook, use your top leg to feed their leg into position. Ensure their knee is on the mat to prevent them from reversing the position. Triangle your legs and extend to keep their knee pinned to the mat.
Control the near arm by underhooking underneath it, move your hand from their hip to grab their far shoulder. Extend away to bring their chest onto your back, secure the seatbelt grip, and establish back control.
