His introduction to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu came not through formal recruitment but through the contagious enthusiasm of school friends who trained and spoke openly about their experiences on the mats. Their stories sparked a genuine curiosity, and at around 13 to 14 years of age — approximately in 2010 — Ribeiro stepped onto the mats for the first time.

His first coach was Luciano Marcos, a local instructor based in Mogi das Cruzes who provided the foundational structure for Ribeiro's development as a grappler. Under Marcos, Ribeiro trained for approximately two years, absorbing the core principles of the sport and earning his blue belt through demonstrated progress and commitment. That formative period laid the groundwork for what would become one of the most decorated pre-black belt careers of his generation.

After earning his blue belt, Marcus Ribeiro made the move that would define his competitive trajectory — joining Alliance JJ, one of the most storied organizations in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
