Alexandria Enriquez was born on February 18, 1999, in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. In 2004, at five years old, she emigrated with her family to the United States, settling in Atlanta, Georgia — a move that set the stage for one of the most accomplished careers in American women's grappling.

The summer before 6th grade marked her first step onto the mats, when her older brother — already a dedicated BJJ practitioner — brought her through the doors of Knuckle Up in Atlanta. Under the instruction of Steve Mitchell, Enriquez discovered her calling almost immediately. Mitchell's influence extended well beyond technique; he became a formative mentor, shaping her development both as a competitor and as a young person navigating the demands of high-level sport.

Her competitive instincts surfaced early. She claimed gold at the IBJJF Pan American Kids Championship in 2013, and by 2016 she had reached the final of the IBJJF World Championship in the juvenile division, earning a silver medal that announced her as one of the most promising young grapplers in the country.

High School: A Calculated Investment in Takedowns

In 2013, Enriquez made a deliberate strategic decision — she joined the wrestling team at Cambridge High School in Alpharetta, Georgia, with a clear objective: sharpen her takedown game for BJJ. Collegiate Wrestling at Life University

Enriquez extended her wrestling career into higher education, representing Life University at the national collegiate level.
