About this video
Initiate the technique from the knee slide position, aiming to transition into the inverted half guard.
- Lift your hips and push down your opponent's hook while leaning forward, pushing their knee back, and posting both hands on the mat to perform a cartwheel motion.
- As your opponent locks their half guard, grab their toes with one hand, pulling the foot towards you to maintain the lock.
- With your free hand, secure a grip on your opponent's pants for additional control.
- Roll over the shoulder opposite to the hand that is grabbing the toes, lifting your hips during the roll.
- Adjust your hook by straightening your leg, find the underhook, secure a seatbelt grip, and complete the back take.
- Remember to roll over the correct shoulder to avoid awkwardness and potential injury. Rolling over the shoulder not engaged in toe grabbing is essential for a smooth transition.
This sequence allows you to effectively take your opponent's back from the reverse half guard position.
