About this video

Initiate the technique from the knee slide position, aiming to transition into the inverted half guard.

  1. Lift your hips and push down your opponent's hook while leaning forward, pushing their knee back, and posting both hands on the mat to perform a cartwheel motion.
  2. As your opponent locks their half guard, grab their toes with one hand, pulling the foot towards you to maintain the lock.
  3. With your free hand, secure a grip on your opponent's pants for additional control.
  4. Roll over the shoulder opposite to the hand that is grabbing the toes, lifting your hips during the roll.
  5. Adjust your hook by straightening your leg, find the underhook, secure a seatbelt grip, and complete the back take.
  6. Remember to roll over the correct shoulder to avoid awkwardness and potential injury. Rolling over the shoulder not engaged in toe grabbing is essential for a smooth transition.

This sequence allows you to effectively take your opponent's back from the reverse half guard position.
