About this video
Executing a knee cut pass against an opponent with a strong ankle grip:
- Begin by establishing long step grips, grabbing the opponent's pants and collar.
- Cut the knee out while dropping to both knees and perform a windshield wiper motion with the legs.
- Pop back up into the knee slide position, ensuring the opponent's hip is compromised and preventing them from re-establishing the Reverse De La Riva hook.
- Use your hips to push the opponent's leg out and drop your shoulder onto their chest, avoiding a direct position across them.
- Once in close proximity to the opponent, release the pants grip and secure an underhook.
- Connect your hands and apply shoulder pressure.
- Complete the knee slide pass transitioning into side control.
- If the opponent's leg feels strong, shift your hips outwards, placing more weight on the outside foot.
- Use your entire body to drag the opponent's leg past as you drop your shoulder onto their chest.
- After gaining the correct position, let go of the pants, secure the underhook, hug the head, and finish with the knee slide.
