Clark Gracie was born on July 17, 1984, in Solano County, California. As the grandson of Carlos Gracie, the founder of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and son of renowned grappler Carley Gracie, Clark was immersed in the martial art from childhood. Growing up between San Francisco and Rio de Janeiro, he absorbed the rich traditions and techniques of his family's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legacy, laying a solid foundation for his future competitive career.

Seeking advanced training opportunities, Clark relocated to San Diego, California, to study under Rodrigo Medeiros at the Revolution Team academy. Training alongside elite competitors, he refined his technical skills and developed a strategic competitive mindset. In May 2010, following a series of impressive tournament performances, Clark received his black belt from his father, Carley Gracie, in a ceremony held at the Revolution Team academy.

In 2013, Clark Gracie gained unexpected global attention when a photograph from the 2013 IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship went viral. Captured mid-omoplata submission, Clark's calm, photogenic expression earned him the nickname "Ridiculously Photogenic Jiu-Jitsu Guy." This viral moment significantly boosted his visibility and popularity within the international BJJ community.

Clark Gracie showcased his technical prowess and resilience in submission-only superfights at Metamoris events. At Metamoris 3 (2014), he faced legendary competitor Rafael Mendes, with the match ending in a draw after a highly technical exchange. Returning at Metamoris 6 (2015), Clark competed against Roberto 'Satoshi' Souza, again resulting in a draw. These performances solidified his reputation as a formidable and technically sophisticated competitor in high-profile submission-only formats.

Under his leadership, Gracie Allegiance has expanded significantly, establishing affiliate academies across multiple states and internationally.
