The interruption ended when a teammate's father introduced him to Vinicius Amaral's GFTeam, based at Gama Filho. At approximately 15 years old and competing at orange belt, Bruno began commuting by overcrowded train — roughly 1.5 hours each way, three times per week — to train at Amaral's academy. Under Vinicius Amaral's guidance, Malfacine earned his blue, purple, brown, and black belts in succession, receiving his black belt at just 19 years old.
