Born on February 26, 1996, in São Carlos, Brazil, Richar Nogueira initially pursued a competitive career in football. At age 13, he shifted his athletic focus to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, marking the start of his dedicated journey into martial arts.

Richar began his formal Jiu-Jitsu training under João Maceira, later advancing his skills with Mauro Pacífico, who awarded him his blue belt. Seeking further growth, he joined Atos Jiu-Jitsu, training under the experienced guidance of Alexandre 'Tatinho' Lopes. Richar's commitment and technical progression culminated in receiving his black belt from renowned instructor Cicero Costha in 2018.

Representing Projeto Social Lutando Pelo Bem (PSLPB), Richar quickly established himself as one of the elite featherweight competitors of his generation. He consistently reached podium positions at prestigious tournaments, including the IBJJF World Championship, IBJJF European Open, and IBJJF South American Championship. His tactical precision and relentless competitive drive earned him recognition and respect within the global Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community.

After relocating to Texas, Richar initially taught at Semper Fortis Jiu-Jitsu before opening his own academy in La Vernia. He subsequently affiliated with Rodrigo Pinheiro BJJ, becoming the head instructor at an RPBJJ location in the San Antonio area. Richar remains actively involved in competition, securing notable achievements such as gold in the no-gi featherweight division and bronze in the gi division at the 2023 IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Con International. He continues to be a prominent figure on the U.S. competition circuit, regularly medaling at events like the IBJJF Dallas Open.
