About this video
Execute a Falling Leg Drag when facing resistance in the knee cut pass:
- Start by controlling the inside of the opponent's knee with your left hand, pushing forward to prompt a push back from them.
- As they push back, drop to your back and transition into an X-Guard on their leg, making an X with your legs.
- Use the X-Guard to kick their leg away and pass it over to the other side.
- Bring your top hook (left foot) over and prepare to enter a leg drag position.
- Post your right foot on the mat to create a stable base as you come up into the leg drag.
- Control the opponent's collar with your left hand, keeping your elbow in and your tricep close to their thigh to prevent them from framing and escaping.
- Pinch both knees, even the one on the mat, towards the opponent's hip to restrict their movement.
- Hover your head over the opponent's chest without needing to drive it anywhere.
- Reach under the opponent's head with your right hand to grab their shoulder, then backstep out while keeping your knee glued to their hip.
- Reinforce the position by placing your left hand on the mat, blocking the opponent's hip, and securing side control.
This technique offers a dynamic transition from a knee cut pass attempt to a leg drag, maintaining control and preventing the opponent's escape.
