His introduction to martial arts came through family — specifically his Uncle Lavelle, whose influence planted the seed that would shape Walker's life on the mats. That inspiration led Walker to Team Lloyd Irvin's Summer Camps in 2002, giving him his first meaningful exposure to jiu-jitsu at an age when most kids were still finding their sport.

Those formative years inside Team Lloyd Irvin's competitive structure proved essential. Under the close mentorship of Donnie Achnick, Walker built the technical foundation and disciplined approach to grappling that would define his competitive identity. Immersed in one of the United States' most demanding jiu-jitsu programs, he developed the tools to compete at a high level well ahead of his peers — a trajectory that would continue for the next two decades.
