UFC BJJ 3: Musumeci vs Carrasco · Oct 1, 2023
About this match
Andy Murasaki pulls guard immediately to open the match. Despite competing almost exclusively in the gi, he shows strong leg locking ability, rolling into the legs early. Kris Olivio counters with a toe hold, but they roll out of danger. Olivio returns to top position, and Murasaki inverts from reverse De La Riva to enter an outside ashi garami and attempts an outside heel hook, but Olivio manages to roll and stay safe as the round ends.
Round two begins with Murasaki pulling guard again. He attacks the legs and Olivio sits back to manage the threat. Murasaki comes on top and works a leg drag into side control, but a late armbar attempt does not convert and he falls off. The round ends with Murasaki likely ahead 2-0 on the scorecards.
In round three, Murasaki shoots a short double leg to secure top position with a body lock. He passes to mount and holds it for several minutes before Olivio kips free. Murasaki passes again and locks up a kimura, getting the tap for the finish.
