Rana Willink vs Carol Joia

Rana Willink claimed her first win in the UFC BJJ 7: Tackett vs Rocha by submitting Carol Joia with a kneebar in the third round. Joia opened aggressively, landing a double-leg takedown against the slope of the Bowl early on, but Willink halted her momentum by snatching up a front headlock. The two spent much of the first round clinched together, with Joia landing a second takedown before Willink worked back to her feet. Willink's offensive attempts were largely stifled as the pair stayed tied up through the final seconds of the round.

In the second round, Willink pulled guard looking to turn Joia's aggression to her advantage, but Joia kept away from danger before engaging from top position. Willink looked for a Choi bar, but Joia was wise to it. Willink then attempted to lock up a kneebar before transitioning to a kimura, though time ran out before she could isolate Joia's arm.

Heading into the third round with the matchup in the balance, both competitors pushed for a finish. Willink came close to locking up a guillotine choke as Joia pushed forward up the slope. Then, as Joia worked for an opening from Willink's back, Willink transitioned to a kneebar, torqued the hold, and forced the tap to secure the third-round submission.
