Paganini pulled to guard early, which prompted Dorsey to begin working passes and leg lock attempts. Paganini looked to counter by attacking the legs from single leg X-guard, but Dorsey kept adjusting his range, moving to the outside with toreando passes and then closing back in with knee cut passes.

As the clock wound down, Dorsey forced half guard and kept pressing his passing game. With six seconds left, he completed the pass to mount to earn the go-ahead points and secure the win.
