Pacenski's teaching career has unfolded across multiple platforms and institutions, reflecting a dual commitment to formal education and martial arts instruction. In 2004, he founded the Revolution Academy in Pennsylvania — his first dedicated home base for BJJ instruction under the BJJ Revolution Team banner. He expanded that footprint to the Los Angeles area in 2008 with the opening of the BJJ Revolution Team – Redondo Beach Academy, where he teaches both group and private classes.
Academic Foundations and Instructional Philosophy
Pacenski's approach to instruction is shaped by a rigorous academic background. He holds a bachelor's degree in Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and pursued a master's degree in Education with a concentration in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University of Southern California Irvine. He has also worked as an elementary school teacher in Los Angeles, California — a role that reinforces the pedagogical discipline he brings to the mats. This dual career as both a credentialed classroom educator and a BJJ black belt gives his teaching a structured, curriculum-minded quality that distinguishes it from more informal instructional models.
Beyond his academies, Pacenski teaches martial arts seminars across the United States and internationally, sharing his technical knowledge and instructional methodology with practitioners at every level of development.
